ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in Nipani Maharashtra but with roots in Karnataka, Girish Adannavar is an artist whose works are austere yet vibrant and feature human forms. He has also received the state award of Maharashtra, the Arihant Prashasti in Karnataka, and numerous state awards. His works are presented in government and private art spaces in India and abroad. Girish graduated in 1997 from Bangalore University, Hubli, with a Master of Arts degree. The awards he has won include the Dakshin Maharashtra Sahitya Sammelan 2008 and the Rotary International Awards 2002. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group, in the United States, Canada, India, the United Kingdom, and Korea. The Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi; Boston Gala 2010; 2008 The Shrine Gallery, New Delhi; and 2001 Heritage Center, Washington DC are just a few of the places that have housed his artwork.
