ABOUT THE ARTIST

I wanted to express my thoughts through landscapes and not human figures. If you see a rock, the texture is sometimes soft or hard. We humans also go through similar things.

Sujata Kar Saha is a contemporary Indian artist known for her vibrant, abstract paintings that reflect the ever-changing quality of nature. Saha's color palette replicates the fall season. Saha's paintings feature natural images such as mountains, rivers, valleys, and the horizon. She believes that nature and human nature are intertwined and her works explore the connection between the two.

She has exhibited her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad and has received several awards for her contributions to the art world, including the AIFACS Award and the Academy of Fine Arts Award.

Sujata Kar Saha lives and works in Kolkata.
