Pradip Maitra

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."

Pradip Maitra

Pradip Maitra

He obtained his diploma from the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship (with first-class honors) in Kolkata and graduated from the University of Calcutta.

Pradip Maitra’s vigorous brushstrokes—featuring shades of black, olive green, rust tones, and a similar chromatic range—capture the past and fuse it with the present to create contemporary modern art. Historical monuments and ancient figures, steam locomotives, dilapidated buildings, and scenes from modern life are among the many subjects he depicts in his abstract-style paintings.

Maitra’s predilection for painting landscapes has resulted in magnificent, bold creations. His works possess a quality that is at once transparent and mystical. Pradip Maitra has been a member of the Society of Contemporary Artists since 1988. The artist lives and works in Kolkata.
