ABOUT THE ARTIST

Satyabrata Karmakar was Born and brought up in Kolkata and has an experience of more than ten years in this beautiful yet challenging world of art, which shows his mastery in the area. His artworks represent the life of common people in India. He uses acrylic as a medium to paint his observation of society and a common man's struggle for a better life.

Karmakar's paintings are not an illusion, when I am alone, I feel and observe the people of our society and their struggle for a better life. Happy, unhappy, love, sunset on the beach, sunrise in the green fields, a jungle of concrete buildings, and affection for animals are reflected on my canvas.

Karmakar has developed a hyper-realistic approach to producing his compositions. His landscapes have a soft visual texture to calm the viewer's eyes while creating a strong color contrast when portraying people and their lives. His comfort with acrylic and oil paints can be seen through his skills. He also works with watercolor.

Most of his works reflect realistic depictions of elements of nature, and people of rural and tribal Bengal, and have signs of spirituality.
