Anand Gadapa
BORN EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS SELECTED SOLO EXHIBITIONS SELECTED GROUP EXHIBITIONS PARTICIPATIONS HONORS AND AWARD ABOUT THE ARTIST Anand Gadapa was born in Andhra Pradesh in 1971. He studied Masters in Visual Arts (Art History and Aesthetics) from M.S.U. State University, Baroda in 2006 and Bachelor's in Fine Arts (Painting) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2002. He currently teaches Art History and Aesthetics at the College of Fine Arts, Jawaharlal Nehru University of Architecture and Fine Arts, Hyderabad. He Gadapa has curated several major exhibitions nationwide between 2007 and 2015. In 2014, he wrote the book Art @ Telangana, a compilation of 152 artists and 100 years of art in Telangana. In 2015, he organised an international seminar on the relevance of public art Rethinking Public Space A Seminar on Relevance of Urban Art in Public in Hyderabad, in collaboration with Bordeaux, France. He has contributed to numerous publications, catalog essays, and talks on contemporary art in India. As a working artist, he has participated in several group exhibitions, including Tales of Love and Betrayal A Modern Retelling of Ramayana, with M.F. Husain and Nirmala Biluka, at Serindia Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2011; Baroda Storytelling through Art, at Serindia Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand, in the same year; and Sacred Spaces, a curated exhibition in New York in 2012. The artist currently lives and works in Baroda.
